Carolynn Tomin, CFP®
Program Director

Carolynn Tomin is a Certified Financial Planner professional who specializes in financial education. She is the Program Director for Boston University’s online and classroom CFP® certification education programs and has augmented the development of BU's online program for the past ten years.

Carolynn has taught estate planning courses, online reviews and CFP® Certification Exam courses for nineteen years at several colleges in Massachusetts and Florida, as well as for many banks and financial service companies in both states. She is co-author of an estate planning textbook, Principles of Estate Planning, which is used by many CFP Board registered programs.

As co-founder of a financial education company, Beacon Hill Financial Educators, she wrote and presented continuing education courses for many financial service firms and organizations including NAPFA and the FPA.

Carolynn has been appointed the 2012 Chair of CFP Board›s Council on Education, and has served as a member of the Council from 2009-2011.

She has been a member of the FPA for many years, and has served on the Board of Directors for the southwest Florida chapter. She is a past member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, a former Director of Financial Planning Programs at Merrimack College, and was Regional Director for the Social Security Disability Program in Massachusetts.

Robert J. Glovsky, JD, LLM, CFP®, CLU, ChFC
Program Director Emeritus

Bob Glovsky is Vice Chair and a Principal of The Colony Group. Prior to joining The Colony Group in July 2012, Bob was a founder and the President of Mintz Levin Financial Advisors, which provided wealth management and investment advisory services to individuals and families. Bob brings more than 30 years of experience in financial and tax planning and money management with a focus on asset allocation and investment strategies.

Bob was recently appointed by President Obama to serve as a member on the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans. Bob also currently serves as a charter member of the Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services Advisor Council and is a former member of the Fidelity Research Institute’s Advisory Council. Bob served as 2010 Chair of the Board of Directors of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He also has served as Chair of the Board of Examiners of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, which sets standards for financial planning professionals worldwide. He has lectured and spoken extensively throughout the country on financial planning topics.

Bob is the Director Emeritus of Boston University’s Financial Planning Program, the largest CFP® Board registered program in New England and one of the largest in the country. He was honored in 2010 for his service, and the Robert J. Glovsky Scholarship Fund was created to help fund financial planning education for qualified candidates choosing to assist the underserved population.

Worth magazine selected Bob as one of the “Best Financial Advisors in the Country” eight consecutive times, and he was also listed in Mutual Fund magazine’s “Nation’s Top 100 Financial Advisors.” In 2014, Barron’s chose Bob as one of the “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors” for the seventh time and he made Boston Magazine‘s list of “Five Star Wealth Managers” in 2010 and 2011*. In addition, Bob has been the feature in Financial Planning magazine three times. His expertise was broadcast for over eight years when he served as co-host of The Money Experts on Boston radio and of The Financial Planners on cable television, and he is regularly quoted in publications, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Business Week, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, and the Boston Herald.

Because of his commitment to community service, Bob was honored by the Financial Planning Association with a 2011 Heart of Financial Planning Award and awarded the highest honor bestowed by the Boston University School of Law, the Silver Shingle for Distinguished Service to the School of Law.

John “Jake” Akoury, CFP®, MBA, CLTC, AAMS

Having served in the military for 25 years, Mr. Akoury has made it his mission to serve those who currently serve [or have served] our country as well as those friends, family members, and business owners who support those who serve.

As Managing Director and Director of Training for The Bulfinch Group, Mr. Akoury specialize in financial protection maximization and wealth accumulation strategies. Additionally, Mr. Akoury advises his clients in several different areas, including efficient wealth accumulation for retirement, estate planning, investment/risk management, and business / executive-level strategies.

Having made his home on the North Shore, Mr. Akoury enjoys spending time with his family as well as giving back to his community as well as his country. He does this through volunteering his time on his children’s sports teams as well as local church and veteran’s organizations.

Not only is Mr. Akoury involved in his community, but he is also actively involved in the financial services world. In addition to earning his Certified Financial Planner [CFP®] designation, Mr. Akoury earned his MBA in Finance and Accounting/Taxation, with a specialization in Personal Financial Planning, from Fordham University as well as his Certification in Long Term Care and Accredited Asset Management Specialist designations.

Vincent E. Bonazzoli, JD

Vincent E. Bonazzoli teaches estate planning courses in Boston University's Financial Planning Program. He is the principal and sole owner of the Vincent E. Bonazzoli Law Firm, PC, which concentrates on advanced estate planning, retirement and wealth strategies, general estate planning, and other related areas. Bonazzoli received his JD from Suffolk University Law School. He is a graduate of the Esperti Peterson Institute's Advanced Studies for Estate and Wealth Planning and their post-doctoral master's program. Bonazzoli is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, and Wealth Counsel, LLC. He is currently president of the Essex County Massachusetts Estate Planning Counsel Board of Directors. He has been an adjunct professor of the Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice, a senior fellow of the Estate & Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University, and an instructor of estate planning courses at Merrimack College. He lives with his wife and two children in Swampscott, Massachusetts.

Colleen Carcone, JD, CFP®

Colleen Carcone is a JD as well as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.She serves as a Director of Wealth Planning Strategies for TIAA-CREF, where she provides wealth transfer, estate, and tax planning services for the company's most complex clients. Colleen works with clients all aspects of estate planning—including basic planning, asset ownership, charitable gifting, multi-generational transfers, life insurance, and other sophisticated estate planning strategies. She also works with clients' outside advisors to implement these techniques. In 2012, Colleen co-authored Principles of Estate Planning with Carolynn Tomin, Program Director, published by National Underwriter. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Colleen worked with Atlantic Trust Company, where she delivered estate and financial planning services to the firm’s clients. Colleen was also previously part of the Atlantic Benefit Group, an insurance firm working with high net-worth individuals and business owners. In this role, she guided clients in the implementation of advanced estate and business planning techniques utilizing life insurance. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont, and received her JD degree from New England School of Law. She is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, and holds Series 6 and 63 licenses. She is active in several professional organizations including the Boston Bar Association and the Boston Estate Planning Council. Colleen has been teaching estate planning in the BU Financial Planning Program since 2008.

Kenneth Dean, CPA, CFP®, CFA, FRM, MST

Ken is a Certified Public Account (CPA) with a Master of Science degree in taxation. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Ken is a Senior Wealth Advisor and Director of Tax at Peak Financial Management, Inc. Waltham, MA. Previously, he provided accounting and tax services to personal clients for 25 years, and has 10 years of experience as an international tax manager, dealing with large multinational companies such as Degussa, Toshiba and Colgate-Palmolive. Dean earned his Master of Science in Taxation in 1995, and a State and Local Tax certification in 1999 from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Over the past 15 years, he has taught all sections of the CFP® curriculum for various CFP programs, banks and financial service companies. In addition to being an instructor in Boston University's Financial Planning Programs, Ken is a contributing content editor. He is a current member of the AICPA, NJSCPA, the Boston Security Analysis Society, and the CFA Institute.

Timothy Duffany, CFP®

Duffany co-founded Single Point Partners in 2012, a Registered Investment Advisory firm specializing in personal CFO and wealth management services.

Prior to Single Point, Duffany worked as a financial planner for six years at Baystate Financial Services and Boston Partners Financial Group. At Baystate, Duffany was a founding member of the family and business advisory group, where he focused on advising successful families and owners of closely held businesses.

Duffany earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2011. A graduate of Bryant University, he majored in finance, was captain of the nationally ranked lacrosse team, and was a member of the university’s first Archway Fund Analyst team, which manages a portion of the school’s endowment. Duffany served on the board of directors of The Falmouth Historical Society, sitting on the finance and budget committee. Currently, he is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of MA. He enjoys spending time on his native Cape Cod, and lives in Boston with his wife Meghan, and their daughter.

Daniel J. Galli, CFP®, M.Ed, ChFC, CLU

Dan Galli is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and principal of Daniel J. Galli & Associates, located in Norwell, Massachusetts. Dan began his financial services career in 1986 following 11 years as a public school teacher. He has built a practice that includes a wide range of products and advisory services, including both fee-based financial planning and commission-based activity. Today, his practice focuses on retirement planning for professionals, small business owners, teachers, and other individuals, designing qualified retirement plans, maximizing savings, and managing assets. He is a registered representative of Ameritas Investment Corp. (AIC) with FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 registrations. He holds a Masters of Education in Elementary Education Administration as well Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations.

Dan also works with PFE Advisors, LLC, of Southborough, Massachusetts, providing national educational workshops for employees of companies such as PepsiCo, FM Global, Akamai Forrester Research, NetScout, The Archdiocese of Boston, MathWorks, Northern Trust, and others. From 1997 to 2005, he served as an adjunct faculty member at Northeastern University in Boston, teaching courses in their CFP® program on retirement planning and employee benefits as well as insurance and financial planning. In 2005, he joined the adjunct faculty at Boston University, teaching FP 105 Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits as well as portions of FP 110, the CFP® capstone course to prepare students for the national CFP® Comprehensive Examination. A contributing author and editor for the Retirement Planning and Employee Benefit sections of Boston University’s online Financial Planning Program, Galli also teaches the live online CFP® Retirement Planning course.

Dan has also been featured in the Boston Sunday Herald as part of their “Money Makeover” series on individual financial planning, and has been quoted in the Boston Globe and Boston Herald as well as other major publications. In conjunction with the Financial Planning Association of MA, he has coordinated a program of Personal Financial Chats for the Boston Globe's website, boston.com. He has served as President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors.

Jennifer F. Galvagna, JD

Jennifer F. Galvagna is a Managing Director with US Trust, Bank of America’s Private Wealth Management Group in Boston, Massachusetts. She currently serves as a Market Trust Director, a position that she has held since December, 2006. Ms. Galvagna originally joined the legacy Fleet organization in 2002 as member of the Wealth Strategies group, specializing in estate and financial planning for high net worth individuals.

Ms. Galvagna was formerly employed as Trust Counsel with State Street Bank and Trust Company’s Private Asset Management and Charitable Asset Management Groups. She also worked in private practice as a Trusts and Estates Associate at the Boston law firms of Mintz Levin Cohen Ferris Glovsky & Popeo P.C. and Burns & Levinson LLP.

Ms. Galvagna additionally served as a member of the adjunct faculty of Northeastern University’s paralegal program, instructing a course on the probate administration and taxation of estates in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She held this position from 2000-2011.

Ms. Galvagna is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and the Trusts and Estates section of the Boston Bar Association where she chaired the Committee on Legislation from 2002-2006.

Ms. Galvagna earned a BA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a JD from Suffolk University School of Law. She resides in Winchester, Massachusetts with her husband and two children.

Alan A. Ioffredo, CFP®

Alan Ioffredo is a founding partner of ALENA Wealth, LLC. Ioffredo and partner Lena Mandelis established the firm to assist individuals and families with values and resource discovery and the proper role these play in their financial decision making. Ioffredo is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a licensed insurance broker. ALENA Wealth, LLC is a Registered Investment Advisor.

Ioffredo has served on the faculty of the Boston University Program for Financial Planners since 1995 and has the distinction of being the first Boston University Program graduate invited to join the faculty. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University’s College of Engineering. Ioffredo is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He is a Registered Principal and a Registered Representative of LPL Financial. Ioffredo offers a fee-based asset management account to clients as an Investment Advisor Representative of LPL Financial.

Alan is a veteran volunteer of the Big Brothers of Boston program and participates in several community charities that focus on supporting young adults and a spirit-filled life.  Alan and his wife Cathy are avid travelers and often “trot the globe” with their three adult children, Michael, Anya and Anthony.

Clifford Jurdi, CFP®

Cliff Jurdi is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner and principal of Clifford J. Jurdi, CFP®, CHFC. He is a Registered Representative, as well as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network, Member FINRA/SIPC, and a Registered Investment Adviser. Jurdi is also a presenter for The PFE Group, a leading retirement plan design, investment advisory, and financial education consulting firm.

Jurdi’s specialty is comprehensive financial and retirement planning, which includes investment analysis, risk management, and estate planning. He is also an instructor in the master's in Taxation curriculum at Northeastern University, teaching retirement planning and employee benefits. He has also taught risk management and the financial planning process in Northeastern's CFP® curriculum. As an adjunct faculty member at Boston University, he teaches retirement planning and employee benefits in the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER curriculum.

Jurdi holds an MS in Financial Planning from Bentley College; has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma; is a Chartered Financial Consultant; and is a roster member of the FINRA board of arbitration. As a Registered Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network, Jurdi holds series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licensing as well as multiple state insurance licensing.

Timothy A. LePain, CLU, ChF, MSM

Tim joined Prudential Insurance Company of America as an agent in 1977. In 1982 he was promoted to the position of Development Manager in the Boston Agency. As Development Manager, he was responsible for hiring, training and supervising agents. During his years as Development Manager, he was the recipient of several Prudential Academy of Honor awards, as well as a Presidential Citation. He was recognized in 1984 by Prudential for his involvement in community activities, receiving the Donald S McNaughton award. In 1992, Tim left Prudential and joined the John Hancock Life insurance Company as a Regional Field Consultant. In 1993 he was appointed Agency Manager for a John Hancock field office. During his years with John Hancock, he was a recognized leader and his agency was a leading agency in 2000.

In 2001, Tim left John Hancock and management to join American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.) as a financial advisor in his own practice. He is an independent franchisee with Ameriprise and has achieved Platinum status. Platinum advisors are in the top 10% of Ameriprise advisors.

Tim works with individuals and business owners, helping them shape financial solutions for a lifetime through a comprehensive, fee-based financial planning process. Another major component of Tim’s business is fee-based wealth management (investment management). In 2010, 2011, and 2012, Tim has been recognized in Boston magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager.

Tim attained his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1990 and his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 1992. In 1998 he received a Master of Science in Management (Financial Services) (MSM) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. Tim is a graduate of the Covey Leadership Institute in Utah and the Purdue Insurance Institute in Indiana. Active in the Society of Financial Services Professionals, he is past President of the Boston chapter. Other activities include the Small Business Council MetroWest Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors for The Center for the Arts in Natick (TCAN), where he also serves as Treasurer.

Tim is also an instructor for the Boston University Center for Professional Education, Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program. He has taught Risk Management since 2004.

Tim and his wife, Betsy, have three children and six grandchildren. They live in Natick, MA.

Stephanie Lynne, CFP®, CDFA

Stephanie Lynne founded Personal Financial Planning, a Registered Investment Advisory firm in 2006. Her firm, based in Wayland Massachusetts, provides hourly, fee-only, financial planning to clients in the Boston area. Stephanie has worked in the financial services industry since 1987. Prior to starting her own practice, Stephanie was a Vice President with Boston Financial Group working in their risk management division. She also worked as an associate planner for GW & Wade, a wealth management firm, in Wellesley Massachusetts. Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from the University of Oregon. She is also a 2004 graduate of Boston University’s program for Financial Planning. Stephanie has been an instructor at Boston University since 2011. In addition to holding her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation, she is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.Stephanie lives in Wayland with her husband and four daughters.

John O'Brien, CFP®

John O'Brien is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner and works as a financial planner and investment specialist with MetLife Financial Group of Massachusetts, in Waltham. O'Brien is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds his certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University’s Center for Professional Education. He has been an instructor in the Financial Planning Program since 2001, and also serves as a “content writer” for BU’s online curriculum. His past experience includes working as a fee-only financial planner as well as a financial consultant with a major area bank. He provided market commentary for the radio program “Not About the Money” on Business 1060 AM in Boston. O'Brien is appointed as an investment advisor representative and holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities licenses as well as Massachusetts Life, Accident & Health licenses. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts and has been asked to speak at Rotary and Lion’s Club meetings, as well as at various industry events.

Michael S. Orentlich, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, CASL®, AEP®

Michael began providing financial services to his clients in 1991 and is the principal and founder of Orentlich Financial Services. He has built a successful practice that focuses on helping people achieve their financial goals.

Michael earned his CFP® certification from the Boston University Certified Financial Planning Program. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living designations through the American College. He has particular interest in matters of insurance, risk management, and the many facets of retirement planning.

Michael is an Adjunct Professor at the Boston University Center for Professional Education, where he has taught retirement planning, to CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER candidates, since 2000. In addition, he played a major role in the design and development of Boston University's Online Program for Financial Planners.

A very active participant in the Boston financial services community, Michael is a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, and The Boston Estate Planning Council, where he serves on the board of directors. Since 1999, he has consistently been awarded membership in the “Million Dollar Round Table”, an international organization that annually recognizes a select group of insurance industry professionals worldwide. Mike co-created and co-hosted the radio program “Not About the Money“ on Business 1060 AM in Boston. Additionally, he was prominently featured on the cover of “Life insurance Selling”, the magazine for top life, health and financial services producers.

Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts. He lives in Marlborough, Massachusetts with his wife and four children.

George Padula, CFA®, CFP®

George Padula, a wealth manager with Modera Wealth Management since 2008, LLC., is an investment professional with more than fifteen years of experience in investment and financial services, and more than ten years of experience in financial planning, managing portfolios and establishing asset allocation strategies for high-net-worth clients, business owners, and families. Prior to joining Modera, formerly known as Back Bay Financial Group, Inc., Padula spent ten years at Danforth Associates, an investment advisory firm, serving as president from October 2004 to July 2008. He has also worked for several large financial services firms including Putnam Investments, Mellon Trust, and Bank One. He has been quoted in several national publications and local media including The Wall Street Journal, WBZ Radio, Journal of Financial Planning, Reuters, Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Boston Globe Magazine. His professional affiliations include the Boston Estate Planning Council, Financial Planning Association, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and Boston Security Analysts Society. Padula also serves on the board of directors for the Chernobyl Children Project USA. He has earned both the Chartered Financial Analyst® and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional designations. He holds an MBA in finance from Boston College's Carroll Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College. Padula is also a graduate of Boston College High School. Padula has taught Investment Planning in Boston University’s Financial Planning Program since 2009 after several years of teaching in Northeastern University’s CFP® program. He lives in Westwood, Massachusetts, with his wife and two daughters.

John J. Pallaria, ChFC, CRPS®, CFP®

John Pallaria is director of business development at the Principal Financial Group, focusing on developing and strengthening the channels through which Principal’s retirement products are marketed in New England. Pallaria joined Principal in 2003, previously serving as the account executive director in charge of the team that services Principal’s existing retirement plans. Prior to joining Principal, Pallaria worked for Scudder Investments for almost ten years, holding a variety of roles within the retirement services division. He teaches income tax, retirement planning, and estate planning in BU's Financial Planning Program, and teaches all six financial planning topics (income tax, retirement planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, and fundamentals) in the Kaplan, Dalton Education, and Merrimack College live reviews for the CFP® Comprehensive Exam. Pallaria received a BS in Business Administration from Merrimack College and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from The American College and the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist designation from the College for Financial Planning. He is FINRA series 6, 7, and 63 registered, and is also enrolled to practice before the IRS as an enrolled agent. A lifelong New Hampshire resident, Pallaria is married and has two young boys.

I. Richard Ploss, JD, CPA, CFP®

Richard Ploss is of counsel to the law firm of Preti, Flaherty, Beliveau & Pachios, which has offices in Portland and Augusta, Maine; Concord, New Hampshire; Boston, Massachusetts; and Washington, D.C. Ploss chairs the firm's Trusts & Estates department. He received his BS in Business Administration (Accounting) from Bucknell University, his MBA from Tulane University, and his JD from Emory University. Over the past fifteen years, Ploss has taught in the CFP® Certificate Programs at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Georgetown University, and Fordham University. He is a former chairman of the CFP Board of Standards Council on Examinations, on which he also served as an expert on the subject matter of estate planning and income tax planning. In addition to being admitted to practice law in five jurisdictions and before the U.S. Supreme Court, he is also a Certified Public Accountant (Georgia) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional.

William B. Reeve, MBA, CFA, CFP®

Bill is currently teaching tax and investment planning for Boston University's classroom program. Additionally, Bill edits and writes curriculum for Boston University’s Online Program for Financial Planners. He is also an instructor for Northeastern University’s graduate program, teaching accounting and finance courses.

Bill previously taught tax planning and case analysis for the BU/Kaplan Review. He also taught financial planning courses for Merrimack College and Northeastern University, and at financial service firms, such as John Hancock, American Express, PNC Bank, Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch, and Eastern Bank. He has also taught financial planning to employees of Pepsi, Shaws Supermarkets, Exelon, and Northern Trust Bank, as well.

Bill is the Director of Financial Planning for Asset Strategy Advisors, located in Natick, Massachusetts. In addition, he is self-employed as a tax accountant and works closely with a couple of local CPA firms. From 1995 to 2005, he ran Sound Financial Planning, Inc., an investment advisory firm that specialized in portfolio management.

In addition to being an Enrolled Agent (EA), CFP® certificant and a CFA charter holder, Bill also has an MBA in Finance, and upon completion of his degree, was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honor society for business students. Bill is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the CFA Institute, and the Boston Security Analysts Society (BSAS), as well as one of the founding members of the Boston Area Alumni Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Anthony Salotto, CFP®, EA

Salotto is the founder of Delphinus Financial Advisors, LLC, a Foxboro, MA firm that specializes in providing comprehensive, fee-only financial planning to clients up and down the East Coast. Salotto is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Enrolled Agent representing taxpayers to the Internal Revenue Service. He received a certificate in financial planning from Boston University, an MS in software development and management from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BA in chemistry from the University of Rochester. James S. Smith, CFP®

Mr. Smith is a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Boston. He has been a practicing financial planner since 1984, earning his CFP® certification in 1987. He has taught for Boston University's Program for Financial Planning since 1993. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning for senior level corporate executives.

Craig A. Thompson, CIC, AAI, LIA

Craig A. Thompson has been president of the Sampson Insurance Agency, Inc., of Weymouth since 1992. Sampson Insurance has been a recognized leader in the property/casualty field since 1902, specializing in property/casualty coverage for individuals and businesses. Thompson holds the Certified Insurance Counselors and Accredited Adviser in Insurance designations, and is a member of several professional organizations. He has taught property and liability coverage in Boston University’s Financial Planning risk management course for the past two years. During his career at Sampson Insurance Agency, Inc., Thompson helped the business attain the coveted Five Star Agency Designation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Curry College and lives Plymouth.

Whiting R. Willauer, Jr., MBA, CFA, CFP®

Skip Willauer is a senior investment manager at Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he provides investment management, financial planning, and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions. Willauer holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner. He is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, the CFA Institute, and the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He holds an MBA, magna cum laude, from Boston University and a BS, cum laude, in Business Administration from American University (1985). Skip has been teaching at Boston University for the Financial Planning Program since 2006.

William J. Walsh, CFP®

William Walsh is the Director of Eastern Bank’s Wealth Management division where he is responsible for overseeing a group of experienced professionals committed to providing trust and estate management, investment management, and financial planning to individuals and organizations throughout eastern Massachusetts. A seasoned leader and wealth management professional, Mr. Walsh has more than 25 years of experience in financial services.

Prior to joining Eastern Bank in 2012, Mr. Walsh served as a Director and Planning Officer at Weston Financial Group, a wealth management firm in Wellesley. Additionally, from 2001 - 2009, he served as a Senior Vice President, City Executive and Market Leader at Bank of America/US Trust in Boston, where he managed a team of 14 private client advisors and managers dedicated to serving high-net-worth clients.

Mr. Walsh is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and serves as an adjunct professor at Boston University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Salem State College. He also holds a diploma in Financial Planning from Boston University.

Brian Eddy, MBA, CFA, CFP(R)

Brian is an investment instructor in the financial planning program in the financial planning program at Boston University. He is also the designated faculty facilitator for the online financial planning program. He is the founder and advisor of his own financial planning and tax firm, Eddy Company, LLC. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Gordon College in 1999 and his MBA in finance from Boston University in 2007. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as well as a CFP certificate. Before founding his own advisory firm, he worked for large financial institutions such as State Street Global Advisors, US Trust Company, and CDC Ixis Asset Management. He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Essex County Estate Planning Council, and serves on other boards such as the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce and the North Shore YMCA. In his free time he enjoys hiking, kayaking, and traveling.
