Capstone Course in Financial Planning FP109
This course will enhance the knowledge and skills of students seeking to attain CFP® certification, including the ability to deliver professional and competent financial planning services to the public. The course integrates financial planning subjects learned in previous courses and demonstrates how to apply this knowledge to the development of a comprehensive financial plan. Students will learn how to construct a plan according to CFP Board’s Financial Planning Practice Standards and client objectives. For the final project, students will prepare and present a comprehensive plan to the BU faculty.
Who Should AttendThe education requirements for CFP® certification includes completion of a Capstone course that is registered with CFP Board. All students need to take this course to complete the BU program requirements and meet CFP Board education requirements to sit for the CFP® Certification exam.
PrerequisitesSuccessful completion of courses FP 101 through FP 106. Students take this course after completing FP101-106, as the course is designed to require integration and application of content across all financial planning subject areas.
- • This course will be taught in hybrid format. Students will meet in class one night each week for 6 weeks for lecture and complete specified online modules each week. Final project presentations will take place online through recorded videos.
