Course Description

Part 1 is offered online. Sessions will be held weekly for five weeks for an hour (and recorded). Part 2 is offered at the Boston University Charles River Campus.
* This class will be offered three times each year - usually in October, February and May - over six/seven weeks.
* Arrangements may be made, for an additional fee, for on-campus housing during the three on-campus days of class for the May session in June.

Who Should Attend

Individuals who have been working in project management for a minimum of three years who are seeking PMP certification. Prior to taking the exam, PMI requires you to prove you have 3+ years working as a project manager.

Prerequisites

You must have either:
* A four-year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent)
* At least three years of project management experience, with a minimum of 4,500 hours leading and directing projects (requirement varies based on academic credentials)
* This course provides the minimum 35 hours of project management education
OR
* A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent)
* At least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects
* A minimum of 35 hours of project management education

*Completing the entire two-part PMP Exam Preparation provides 35 hours of project management education.
In addition, you must also:
* Submit your relevant academic transcripts.
* Submit your application to PMI to take the exam. The cost of the exam is not included in the cost of this course. The Online Overview (Part 1) will enable you to have your application completed and submitted prior to taking the On-campus Boot Camp (Part 2).

Textbooks and Class Materials

  • The PMP Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try (Andy Crowe, 5th Edition) will be provided and is included in the price. The text by Crowe will be sent out to students about two weeks after the first online session.
