Course Description

This course will cover the different fundamental commercial transactions and leases. The course will be an overview of the exchange and transfer of real estate interests between tenants, investors, lenders, buyers and sellers. The class will be founded with an emphasis on the business perspective of commercial and industrial leasing, real estate interests, types of valuation approaches, loan and financing alternatives and sales transactions. There will be minor discussions about legal principles and real estate contracts. The course will enable students to better interpret lease language to better assist in lease or sales/purchase negotiations, to offer alternative ideas in the negotiation of transactions and to be better equipped with terminology in a real estate dealing or with lease administration services. An overview to the risks and rewards of each transaction will be identified.
