Course Description

This course will enhance the knowledge and skills of students seeking to attain CFP® certification, including the ability to deliver professional and competent financial planning services to the public. The course integrates financial planning subjects learned in previous courses and demonstrates how to apply this knowledge to the development of a comprehensive financial plan. Students will learn how to construct a plan according to CFP Board’s Financial Planning Practice Standards and client objectives.

Capstone Project

For the final project, students will prepare and present a comprehensive financial plan.  

Challenge Candidates

Students with specific certifications can accomplish the CFP Board Education requirement are only required to complete the Capstone course instead of all seven courses. More information on their requirements can be found here: Accelerated Path | CFP Board

Boston University does not require this proof; instead any documentation should be sent to the CFP Board.
