You hereby confirm your understanding that as a Boston University student, taking classes with the Center for Professional Education, you are required to abide by the policies set forth by Boston University and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
You are subject to the withdrawal policies outlined below and authorize payment be processed with the defined amounts against the credit card provided. You are solely responsible for all fees charged to your credit card, by the issuer bank, or financial institution. Refunds are subject to the Center for Professional Education’s standard refund policies, which are outlined below. If you are paying via installment plan, you may pay any scheduled payments in full at any time prior to the due date with no penalty.
If you do not submit a full payment at this time and have selected the Other Methods option, you must make alternate arrangements with our office to provide payment. Please reach out to cpe@bu.edu directly to confirm the course you are enrolling in and ensure we have all required documents for any third-party funding or scholarships in place. Failing to do so may result in your registration being cancelled.
Withdrawal Policies
Please contact Center for Professional Education by email (cpe@bu.edu) or phone (617-353-4497) to cancel a class. You must follow the official withdrawal policy and meet the established deadlines to qualify for a refund. Ceasing to attend classes or notifying your instructor that you are withdrawing does not constitute officially withdrawing and will not be recognized.
All payments will be credited back to the issuing credit card, individual, or agency that provided the funding.
Classroom Programs
For Evergreen Audit classes: Policies align with those established by the main BU campus.
For Evergreen Seminars: You must inform our office 24 hours before the seminar begins for a refund. No refunds will be processed after the start of the seminar.
For Real Estate Studies: The Center for Professional Education program office must receive information within 72 hours of the first class session to receive a refund. There are no refunds given after this time.
Online Programs

For all online classes in Financial Planning, Genealogy, Paralegal Studies, and Professional Fundraising: Cancelling a class is subject to up to a $300 non-refundable fee. If you cancel prior to the first day of class/access to the class, you will receive a full refund less the fee. Cancellations received through the fifteenth (15) business day of the class will receive a 50% tuition refund, less the cancellation fee. No refunds are issued after the fifteenth (15) business day.
