Course Description

Boston University moved to remote teaching and learning format for all in-person classes to reduce the effects of COVID-19. This course teaches the fundamentals of commercial property management, focusing on office buildings, shopping centers, and industrial sites. Students will discover the similarities and differences in management techniques for various property types and learn how to apply them successfully and profitably.

Topics: Effective techniques for marketing and leasing; fundamentals of good property maintenance; developing a profit-oriented budget; principles of lease administration; emergency procedures planning; organization and operation of management firms; and developing owner reports.
