Course Description

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT (April 7, 2020) Boston University has canceled in-person classes and moved to remote teaching and learning for the rest of the spring semester and all of the summer sessions. Please visit our COVID-19 website for more information.

Testing for the Interpreter Program will be offered in an online format during this time.  A staff member will be present to oversee the written and reading comprehension tests.  The faculty will “meet” with each student individually to assess verbal fluency.  Information about the testing format and logging in to the test will be sent shortly before test date.

Acceptance in the Interpreter Program is based on fluency in English and Chinese. Students are required to demonstrate this fluency through all modes of communication--reading, writing, and speaking--at an on-campus testing session. The test includes short essay questions, reading comprehension, and meeting with the faculty to assess your language skills.

Tests will be held in June, July, and August.  Keep checking back for future dates.

In order to attend the testing session, student must 1) enroll in INTTESTC and pay the $50 testing fee and 2) submit an Interpreter Program Application to be in the program.  Information about the testing location will be sent shortly before the event.

No walk-ins will be permitted for testing.
